The title of this blog, “Do you work here?” comes from one of the most common yet frustrating questions reference librarians get. For some reason, the fact that we may be sitting behind a desk in the middle of a place of “business”, typing away at a computer, and possibly with a name tag on, fails to communicate our employment status.
This blog is intended to be a collection and discussion of reference service definitions, ideas, theories, aspects, practices and selected literature. Please feel free to contribute, positively, negatively, or neutrally.
